Bart Steve Frank February 13, 1960-November 15, 2015 Mr. Bart Steve Frank, 55, of La Porte, Indiana, passed away Sunday, November 15, 2015 at Indiana University Health La Porte Hospital. He was born February 13, 1960 in La Porte, Indiana, the son of Stephen J. Frank and Doris L. (Major) Frank. Bart was a 1979 graduate of La Porte High School, where he was a member of the swim team. Later under the mentoring of Norm Tonsoni, Bart coached swimming for almost three decades. Bart was employed as the Utilities Superintendent for the Town of Westville. He is survived by his son, Brian A. (Kristi) Frank of Valparaiso, IN; daughter, Heather N. (Michael) Wakeman of North Liberty, IN; five grandchildren, Athena, Atticus, Nessa, Paige, Piper, and one grandchild on the way; special friend, Anna Matthys; two brothers, Terry (Debbie) Frank of Leesburg, IN, and Danny Frank of La Porte, IN. He is also survived by his vast swim family. Bart was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Bruce Frank. Arrangements are being entrusted to Haverstock Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 602 Maple Ave., La Porte, IN where the family will receive friends Wednesday, November 18, 2015, 3:00 pm - 7:00 pm. A life celebration will be held at Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc., Wednesday November 18, 2015 at 7:00 pm with Rev. Roger Ash and Father Ted Mauch officiating. Interment will follow at a later date at Pine Lake Cemetery. The family wishes to thank the staffs of Michiana Hematology Oncology and IU Heath La Porte Hospital for the compassionate and exceptional care given to Bart during his battle against cancer.
