Bernece Simcox

Mrs. Bernece P Simcox, 92, of La Porte, Indiana, died Sunday, November 6, 2011 at her home. She was born October 22, 1919 in La Porte, Indiana, the daughter of Vincent Janzaruk and Anastasia (Miaczkowska) Janzaruk. Bernece worked as a secretary for Kramer. She was a member of Friendly Neighbors Club and the Pine Lake Promenaders Square Dance Club. Bernece enjoyed her gardening. On February 15, 1941, in South Bend, IN, she married Norman B. Simcox who preceded in death March 6, 2006. She is survived by her daughter - Norma Jones of La Porte, IN. Bernece was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one son, Jack Simcox, one sister, and two brothers. Arrangements are being handled by Haverstock Funeral Home, 602 Maple Ave., LaPorte, Ind. where the family will receive friends Wednesday, November 9, 2011 from 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm & Thursday, November 10, 2011 from 12:00 pm, until time of service. Services will be held at Haverstock Funeral Home on Thursday, November 10, 2011 at 1:00 pm with Pastor Jo Ellyn Chadwick officiating. Interment will follow at the Pine Lake Cemetery, LaPorte, Indiana. Memorial contributions may be made to the Donor's Choice or to the family of Bernece P. Simcox.
