Bernice Richie July 31, 1943-September 11, 2014 Mrs. Bernice Richie, 71, of La Porte, Indiana, died Thursday September 11, 2014 at Golden Living Center Fountainview in LaPorte, IN. She was born July 31, 1943 in La Porte, Indiana, the daughter Louise (Schoof) Lancaster. Bernice worked as a paper carrier for LaPorte Herald Argus. On March 3, 1963, in Knox, IN, she married Ordway Richie who survives. She is also survived by her two brothers, Marshal Lancaster of La Porte, IN and Richard (Sandra) Lancaster of Walkarusa, IN. and seven nieces and nephews. Bernice was preceded in death by her mother and one brother, Ednor Lancaster. Arrangements are being entrusted to Haverstock Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 602 Maple Ave., LaPorte, IN where the family will receive friends Tuesday, September 16, 2014 from 10:30 am, until time of service. A Memorial Service will be held at Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc., Tuesday September 16, 2014 at 11:00 am with Rev. Margaret Hunt officiating.
