Bond D. Bailey February 3, 1938-January 22, 2014 Bond D. Bailey, 75, of La Porte, Indiana, died Tuesday, January 21, 2014 at his home. He was born February 3, 1938 in Hornersville, Missouri, the son of Sylvester Bailey and Lucille (Carrington) Bailey. Bond worked 38 years as a conductor for South Shore Railroad, retiring in 2000. He was a US Veteran of the Navy during Peacetime.. He enjoyed gardening, woodcarving and painting. On April 18, 1981, in LaPorte, IN, he married Grace (Bline) Bailey who survives. He is also survived by his 2 sons - Laren (Beth) Bailey of Plymouth, IN, Darren Bailey of Michigan City, IN; 3 step-sons - John (Tammy) Bline of Elkhart, IN, Timothy Bline of La Porte, IN, Robert (Lynn) Bline of Rolling Prairie, IN; nine grandchildren, and five great grandchildren; 2 brothers - Bill Bailey of Memphis, TN, Rick Bailey of Naples, FL., sister - JoAnn McGurn of Memphis, TN. and grand-dogs, Bonnie and Rusty. Bond was preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Lisa Bailey, and daughter-in-law, Roberta Bline. Arrangements are being entrusted to Haverstock Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 602 Maple Ave., LaPorte, IN where the family will receive friends Friday, January 24, 2014 from 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm and Saturday, January 25, 2014 from 10:00 am, until time of service. A life celebration will be held at Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc., Saturday January 25, 2014 at 11:00 am with Pastor Matthew Elliott, officiating.
