Clay Watson, Jr. March 4, 1943-August 26, 2013 Mr. Clay Watson, Jr, 70, of La Porte, Indiana, passed away on Monday August 26, 2013 at his home, in La Porte, IN. after a 10 year battle with cancer. He was born March 4, 1943 in Salyersville, Kentucky, the son of Clay Watson, Sr. and Onessa (Montgomery) Watson. Clay worked thirty-six years as a electrician for the IBEW Local Union #505. He was a member of Free Mason Kingsbury Lodge #222, Scottish Rite, Moose Lodge #492, Polish Falcons, American Legion Post #400, PRCU, PNA, Post 83 American Legion Riders. Clay enjoyed fishing, Nascar, and Harley Davidson motorcycles. On June 25, 1993 in LaPorte, Indiana, he married Peggy (Watkins) Watson who survives. He is also survived by his 2 daughters - Kimberly (Mark) Lowry of Hamlet, IN, Michelle (Charles) Davis of Hamlet, IN; 2 sons - Heath (Stephanie) Watkins of La Porte, IN, John (Stephanie) Schmidt of Niles, MI; 4 grandchildren - Rachel, Stephanie, Erica, Jaidyn, and 2 great-grandchildren - Lilly and Jeffery; sister - Helen Mineberg of La Porte, IN, and mother-in-law - Patricia Best of La Porte, IN and his loving dog Maggie, aka "Babydog". Clay was preceded in death by his parents, one great-grandson, three brothers, and four sisters. Arrangements are being entrusted to Haverstock Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 602 Maple Ave., LaPorte, IN. There will be no visitation and no services. Cremation will take place.
