Edna M. McCullough February 25, 1930-September 26, 2013 Edna M. McCullough, 83, of LaPorte, Indiana, died Thursday September 26, 2013 at Golden Living Center Fountainview in LaPorte, IN. She was born February 25, 1930 in La Porte, Indiana, the daughter of Ransom Hakes and Lucille (Holloway) Hakes. Edna enjoyed sewing Barbie doll clothing and making dolls for needy children in the area, while raising six children of her own. On August 3, 1947, in LaPorte, IN, she married Russell A. McCullough, Sr. who preceded her in death January 23, 2010. She is survived by her 2 sons - Russell A. McCullough, Jr of Hamlet, IN, Larry McCullough of Jacksonville, FL; 3 daughters - Pat (Dennis) Read of Oconto, NE, Vicki Lain of Rolling Prairie, IN, and Susan (Billy) Adams of Kingsford Heights, IN; twenty-two grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; several great-great grandchildren; brother - Joseph Hakes of La Porte, IN; 2 sisters - Josephine Mitchell, and Ruth Williamson both of La Porte, IN. Edna was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter, Katheryn Newland, son-in-law, Frosty Lain, two brothers, and one sister. Arrangements are being entrusted to Haverstock Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 602 Maple Ave., La Porte, IN where the family will receive friends Monday, September 30, 2013 from 9:00 am, until time of service. A life celebration will be held at Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc., Monday September 30, 2013 at 11:00 am with Pastor David Adams officiating.
