Ella M. Lawson March 10, 1930-June 21, 2013 Mrs. Ella M. Gallagher Lawson, 83, of La Porte, Indiana, died Friday June 21, 2013 at the home of her daughter in La Porte. She was born March 10, 1930 in Talbott, Tennessee, the daughter of Thomas A.Williams and Gracie (Lowe) Williams. She has lived in the La Porte area for the last 41 years. Ella is retired from Ripco after 11 years of service. She was a member of First Apostolic United Pentecostal Church. She loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren and traveling back home to Tennessee to visit with family. She loved her Church, her church family and she loved flowers. On July 4, 1953, in La Porte she married Frances E. Gallagher who preceded in death June 2, 1975. She remarried on August 11, 1980, in La Porte, to Dan Lawson who preceded in death August 6, 1985. She is survived by her 2 daughters - Carolyn (Bill) Kopkowski of La Porte, Karen (Ben) Oudhuis of New Carlisle, IN; son - Edward F. Gallagher of La Porte; 8 Grandchildren - Nathen (Verna) McAlister, Joan Moran, Aaron Kopkowski, Jacob Schmidt, John (Kim) Schmidt, Amy Schmidt, Lauren Hughes, Chelsea Gallagher; seventeen great grandchildren; step-son - Donald Lawson of Michigan City, IN; 3 step-daughters - Geraldine Mullins of Las Vegas, NV, Darlene Lindsay of La Porte, Ida Huffman of La Porte; and several nieces and nephews. Ella was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, son-in-law Bill Kopkowski, step-son, Ronald Lawson, 5 sisters, Hazel Grooms, Ruth Grooms, Martha Perkins, Mary Lou Wright, Katherine Williams, and 2 brothers, John Williams and Austin Williams. Arrangements are being entrusted to Haverstock Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 602 Maple Ave., La Porte, IN where the family will receive friends Tuesday, June 25, 2013 from 4:00 pm - 7:00 pm and Wednesday, June 26, 2013 from 9:00 am until time of the service. A life celebration will be held at Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc., Wednesday June 26, 2013 at 10:00 am with Rev. Richard Hoffman officiating.
