Elsie F Simpson August 2, 1934-December 19, 2013 Mrs. Elsie F Simpson , 79, of New Carlisle, Indiana, died Thursday December 19, 2013 at Indiana University Health La Porte Hospital. She was born August 2, 1934 in Jackson, Kentucky, the daughter of Edward Hager White and Sarah (Merida) White. Elsie worked 20 years in the X-Ray Dept for Howmet Mfg.. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. Elsie enjoyed gardening, camping, vacationing, and RV transporting. Elsie especially loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. On November 10, 1952, in Jeffersonville, KY, she married Charles L Simpson who preceded in death April 12, 2012. She is survived by her children Carolyn (Ray) Kissinger of Mill Creek, IN; son - Dennis Simpson of New Carlisle, IN, Debra (Brian) Galvas of La Porte, IN; Richard (Sandy) Simpson of Campbellsville, KY, and Danny (Norma) Simpson of Campbellsville, KY; 8 grandchildren - Annette (Greg) Handevidt, Doug Kissinger, Melanie (Michael) Turner, Joel (Lisa) Galvas, Landon (Jennifer Kray) Galvas, Becky Whitlock, Norman Simpson, Steven (Jenny) Simpson and 12 great grandchildren. Elsie was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sister, Nova White, sister, Lena Godsey, sister, Betty Jean White, brother, David White, and sister, Nora Rice. Arrangements are being entrusted to Haverstock Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 602 Maple Ave., La Porte, IN where the family will receive friends Sunday, December 22, 2013 from 2:00 pm - 5:00 pm and Monday, December 23, 2013 from 12:00 pm, until time of service. A life celebration will be held at Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc., Monday December 23, 2013 at 1:00 pm with Rev. Curtis Southwood officiating. Interment will follow at the Pine Lake Cemetery, LaPorte, Indiana. Memorial contributions may be made to the Real Services or Calvary Baptist Church 1808 I St. La Porte, IN 46350.
