Emerson E. Wilson April 22, 1929-December 25, 2016 Emerson E. (Sam) Wilson, 87, of La Porte, Indiana, passed away Sunday December 25, 2016 at Indiana University Health La Porte Hospital in La Porte, IN. He was born April 22, 1929 in Robinson, Illinois, the son of Jacob Alva Wilson and Ruby May (Higgins) Wilson. Sam was a retired truck driver and charter tour bus driver. He was a veteran of the US Army during WW II and was a member of the American Legion of Kingsford Heights. He loved to watch the activities at the LaPorte Airport. On August 25, 1962, in La Porte, IN, he married Kay (Hall) Wilson who survives. He is also survived by his two daughters, Ginny (Jeff Dailey) Dickson, Loretta (Dan Klonaski) Wilson; son, Tom A. Wilson; four Grandchildren, Tami (Stephan Jr.) Nedza, Jennifer (Joe) Layman, Olivia Wilson, Madeline Wilson; 2 great grandchildren; 1 great great granddaughter; three sisters, Edna Montgomery, Esther Fear, Eleanor Reynolds; and many nieces and nephews. Emerson was preceded in death by his grandson, Kenneth Dickson Jr., 4 sisters and 1 brother. Arrangements are being entrusted to Haverstock Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 602 Maple Ave., LaPorte, IN where the family will receive friends Wednesday, December 28, 2016, 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm. A life celebration will be held at Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc., Wednesday December 28, 2016 at 6:00 pm with Rev. Dan McDonald officiating.
