Gerald Ainsworth

Gerald N. Ainsworth November 12, 1943-December 21, 2013 Mr. Gerald N. Ainsworth, 70, of La Porte, Indiana, died Saturday December 21, 2013 at Indiana University Health La Porte Hospital. He was born November 12, 1943 in La Porte, Indiana, the son of Edward Ainsworth and Phyllis (Unger) Ainsworth. Gerald worked for Reith-Riley Construction, retiring in 2006, and then continued to work for Advanced Excavating. He was a member of St. John Lutheran Church, Moose Lodge, and Falcons. He was an avid bowler, enjoyed watching football, especially the Chicago Bears. Gerald also enjoyed snowmobiling and Harley Davidson motorcycles. On February 16, 1985, in LaPorte, IN, he married Katheryn (McCorkel) Ainsworth who survives. He is also survived by his son - Corey (Tina) Ainsworth of Cullman, AL; daughter - Karrie Ann (Scott) Clark of Goshen, IN; step-son - Thomas Deiotte of Wheatfield, IN; 3 step-daughters - Robin (Joe) Fiorito of La Porte, IN, Celine Hicks of La Porte, IN, Tress (Milo) Bellis of Rolling Prairie, IN; twenty-three grandchildren, and seven great- grandchildren. Gerald was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Judy Shaw,and step-son, Matthew Deiotte. Arrangements are being entrusted to Haverstock Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 602 Maple Ave., LaPorte, IN where the family will receive friends Thursday, December 26, 2013 from 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm and Friday, December 27, 2013 10:00 am, until time of service. A life celebration will be held at Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc., Friday December 27, 2013 at 11:00 am with Rev. Ronald A. Brauer officiating. Interment will follow at the Union Mills Cemetery, Union Mills, Indiana. Memorial contributions may be made to the Family of Gerald N Ainsworth.
