Gerald L. Tarnow December 5, 1933-April 27, 2014 Mr. Gerald L. Tarnow, 80, of Ocala, Florida, (formerly of LaPorte) died Sunday, April 27, 2014 at Covenant Hospice in Panama City, FL. He was born December 5, 1933 in La Porte, Indiana, the son of Herbert Tarnow and Edna (Norman) Tarnow. Gerald was owner/operator of his farm. He was a 4-H Leader, and a Little League Baseball Coach. Gerald had hosted a Farm Progress Show. On October 12, 1989, in LasVegas, NV, he married Rose (Iler) Tarnow who survives. On June 14, 1953 in Rolling Prairie, Indiana, he married Selma (Peterson) Tarnow, who preceded him in death, on January 2, 1972. He is also survived by his son, Greg (Sharon) Tarnow of Chandler, AZ; two daughters, Gail Tarnow-Ballard of Scottsdale, AZ, Lynn Tarnow of Lebanon, IN; five grandchildren; one great grandchild; two brothers, Ward Tarnow of La Porte, IN, Harold Tarnow of TX; two sisters, Nancy Trafelet of La Porte, IN, and Barbara Zeedyk of New Carlisle, IN. Gerald was preceded in death by his parents, 1st wife, Selma Tarnow, son, Larry Tarnow, four brothers, Gordon, Herbert Kenneth, and Floyd Tarnow, one sister, Luella Sallisbury. Arrangements are being entrusted to Haverstock Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 602 Maple Ave., LaPorte, IN. There will be no visitation. A graveside service will be held at Patton Cemetery, Tuesday May 20, 2014 at 1:00 pm, with Pastor JoEllyn Chadwick, officiating. Burial of ashes will follow at the Patton Cemetery, LaPorte, Indiana.
