Irene Fortin

Irene L. Fortin February 9, 1927-June 17, 2017 Irene L. Fortin, 90, of La Porte, Indiana, passed away Saturday June 17, 2017 at Indiana University Health La Porte Hospital. She was born February 9, 1927 in La Porte, Indiana, the daughter of Garland Fred Daniel and Olga Marie (Steinstrom) Daniel. Irene had worked at Boris Smolers as a seamstress and at Shafer's Laundry as seamstress and dry cleaning. On December 23, 1947, in LaPorte, IN, she married Richard Fortin, who preceded her in death on December 29, 1999. She is survived by her son, Gene Lewis (Barbara) Fortin of Rolling Prairie, IN and daughter, Sharon Ann Fortin of La Porte, IN. Irene was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sister, Marie Johanna Ebel, and brother, Garland Raymond Daniel. Arrangements are being entrusted to Haverstock Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 602 Maple Ave., La Porte, IN A Graveside Service will be held at Patton Cemetery, Wednesday June 21, 2017 at 12:00 pm with Rev.
