James R. Kaczmarek November 10, 1936-April 9, 2015 Mr. James R. Kaczmarek, 78, of La Porte, Indiana, died Thursday April 9, 2015 at Miller's Health and Rehab in LaPorte, IN. He was born November 10, 1936 in Chicago, Illinois, the son of Felix Kaczmarek and Marie (Clemons) Kaczmarek. James worked as a press man for 25 + years at Swartz Paper Company. He enjoyed spending time with his family, playing cards, and watching TV. On June 28, 1958, in Corinth, MS, he married Shirley (Johnston) Kaczmarek who preceded him in death on January 6, 2010. He is survived by his two daughters, Catherine Petrie of La Porte, IN, Vickie DeBois of Winamac, IN; one son, Russell (Carol) Kaczmarek of Rolling Prairie, IN; ten grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. James was preceded in death by his parents, wife, great-granddaughter, Katie Schoof, a brother, Bill and a sister, Pat; son-in-law, Michael Petrie. Arrangements are being entrusted to Haverstock Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 602 Maple Ave., La Porte, IN. There will be no visitation. A graveside service will be held at Pine Lake Cemetery, Thursday April 16, 2015 at 10:00 am with Rev. Bill Barnes officiating. Burial of ashes will follow at the cemetery.
