Joan Carolyn Morrison July 13, 1934-November 21, 2016 Mrs. Joan Carolyn Morrison, 82, of La Porte, Indiana, passed away Monday November 21, 2016 at Indiana University Health La Porte Hospital in La Porte, IN. She was born July 13, 1934 in North Liberty, Indiana, the daughter of Melvin E. Nelson and Lolita (Wolff) Nelson. She was a member of Tracy United Methodist Church She enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren. She also enjoyed watching the cardinals and other birds outside of her window. On January 22, 1955, in Hamlet, IN, she married Clarence W. Morrison who preceded her in death August 29, 2014. She is survived by her daughter, Cindy McCoy; three sons, Rick Morrison, Curt (Amy) Morrison, Kalvin (Ann) Morrison; nine grandchildren; six great grandchildren, and a brother, Jay Nelson. Joan was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son, Joe Morrison, three sisters and one brother. Arrangements are being entrusted to Haverstock Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 602 Maple Ave. Visitation will be at the Tracy United Methodist Church in Hamlet, IN., beginning at 3:30 p.m. Saturday, May 20, 2017 A memorial service will be held at 4:30 p.m. with Pastor Ann Dill officiating and the burial of ashes in the Tracy Cemetery.
