Karen M. Okrzesik March 2, 1958-September 14, 2016 Karen M. Okrzesik, 58, of La Porte, Indiana, passed away after a sudden illness on Wednesday September 14, 2016 at Indiana University Health La Porte Hospital. She was born March 2, 1958 in La Porte, Indiana, the daughter of Frank J. Okrzesik and Margaret (Smith) Okrzesik. Karen lived her life with fierce determination and was passionate about life. She loved being with her family and touched many peoples lives. She is survived by her two daughters, Amanda Galligan, and Amy Martinez; grandchildren, Xavier, Leah, Eijah, Quentin and Ri-Onna and Trea; two brothers, David (Krista) Okrzesik, and Dennis (Connie) Okrzesik; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Karen was preceded in death by her parents, and one sister, Christine Okrzesik. Arrangements are being entrusted to Haverstock Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 602 Maple Ave., La Porte, IN where the family will receive friends on Monday, September 19, 2016 from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm and on Tuesday, September 20, 2016 from 12:30, until time of the service. A life celebration will be held at 1:30 pm on Tuesday,September 20, 2016 at Haverstock Funeral Home with Father Ian Williams, officiating.
