Kathryn E. (Worthington) Hooten March 6, 1923-December 2, 2013 Mrs. Kathryn E. Hooten, 90, of Mill Creek, Indiana, died Monday December 2, 2013 at Golden Living Center Fountainview in LaPorte, IN. She was born March 6, 1923 in North Liberty, Indiana, the daughter of John Worthington and Verde (Miller) Worthington. Kathryn was a cook for 10 years at Fountainview Nursing Home. She was a 1942 graduate of Mill Creek High School. Kathryn enjoyed reading and especially enjoyed spending time with her family. On February 18, 1943, in Brownsville, TX, she married Ernest W. Hooten who preceded her in death March 15, 1968. She is survived by her daughter - Mary L. (Wesley) Ward of Mill Creek, IN; eight grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild. Kathryn was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter, Dianne S. Wolff; son-in-law, Walker Wolff; grandaughter, Tina E. (Ward) Rapp; five sisters, and seven brothers. Arrangements are being entrusted to Haverstock Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 602 Maple Ave., La Porte, IN where the family will receive friends Thursday, December 5, 2013 from 9:00 am, until time of service. A life celebration will be held at Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc., Thursday December 5, 2013 at 11:00 am with Rev. Bill Moxey officiating.
