Lois JeanFelske March 25, 1925-March 31, 2018 Lois J. Felske, 93, of Michigan City, Indiana, passed away Saturday, March 31, 2018 at the VNA Hospice Center in Valparaiso, IN. She was born March 25, 1925 in Michigan City, Indiana, the daughter of Fred Haug and Helen (Long) Haug. Lois graduated from the Michigan City High School in 1943. She worked in the Illinois State Attorneys office and then was the first person hired in the Lake County Water and Sewer Department in 1964. She became the Supervisor of the Public Works Department in Waukegan, IL and worked for 30 years before retiring. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Michigan City. She belonged to the Wesley Daughters and was a member of the Moose. She was a past president of the Volunteer Guild of the Franciscan Hospital in Michigan City. On November 10, 1958, in Michigan City, IN, she married Max M. Felske who preceded her in death in 1985. She is survived by her two nieces, Trudy (Robert) Hull of La Porte, IN, Linda (Charles) Morris of Westville, IN; two great nieces, and two great nephews. Lois was preceded in death by her parents and husband. Arrangements are being entrusted to Haverstock Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 602 Maple Ave., La Porte, IN. Private family services will be held at Greenwood Cemetery in Michigan City at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to the First United Methodist Church, 121 E.
