Norman G. Eggert November 4, 1936-November 18, 2016 Mr. Norman G. Eggert, 80, of La Porte, Indiana, passed away Friday November 18, 2016 at Indiana University Health La Porte Hospital in La Porte, IN. He was born November 4, 1936 in La Porte, Indiana, the son of Lewis J. Eggert Sr. and Laura Ida Matilda (Hacker) Eggert. Norm worked at Allis Chalmers, Indiana Molding and retired from St. Andrew Products of Michigan City. He was a member of the Polish Falcons and coached mens softball teams for many years. In his earlier years he loved to polka and bowl. He was an avid Cubs and I.U. fan and loved attending his grandchildren's sporting events. On December 5, 1969, in La Porte, IN, he married Maxine Cady Eggert who survives. He is also survived by his daughter, Kathy (George) Johnson of La Porte, IN; son, Gene (Michelle) Eggert of La Porte, IN; seven Grandchildren, Dustin Eggert, Daniel Eggert, Megan Eggert, Melissa (Donald) Graham, Mathew Johnson, Beth Johnson, Russell Spaid; 3 great grandchildren; two brothers, Lewis (Judy) Eggert, Jr. of Mill Creek, IN, Wilbur (Mary) Eggert of La Porte, IN; and a sister, Kathryn Small of La Porte, IN. Norman was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Betty (John) Routt and Louise (Bob) Mrozinski. Arrangements are being entrusted to Haverstock Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 602 Maple Ave., LaPorte, IN where the family will receive friends Tuesday, November 22, 2016, from 3:00 pm - 8:00 pm and Wednesday, November 23, 2016, from 10:00 am until time of the service. A life celebration will be held at Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc., Wednesday November 23, 2016 at 11:00 am with Rev. Michael Johnson officiating. Interment will follow at the Oak Grove Cemetery, Mill Creek, Indiana.
