Raymond Louis Harder June 30, 1920-July 13, 2013 Mr. Raymond Louis Harder, 93, of LaPorte, Indiana, died Saturday July 13, 2013 at Brentwood Assisted Living in LaPorte, IN. He was born June 30, 1920 in LaPorte County, Indiana, the son of William Harder and Anna Marie (Felton) Harder. Raymond had worked for Goodyear and Farm Bureau. He was a member of First United Methodist Church, American Legion Skwait Post #451 of Michigan City, IN, and the 40 and Over Dance Club. He was a US Army Veteran during WW II. Ray enjoyed dancing and drum and bugle corps shows. On October 29, 1950, in LaPorte, IN, he married Patricia (Gillham) Harder who survives. He is also survived by his daughter - Susan Rae Harder-Swank of Indianapolis, IN; 3 sons - Jeffrey (Carol) Harder of Terre Haute, IN, Timothy Harder of Chicago, IL, Lonnie (Stacy Koebel) Harder of Granger, IN; 8 Grandchildren - Steven Ray Swank, Michael Swank, Brittany (Brian) Bays, Tyler Harder, Gabby Koebel, Michael Koebel, David Frey, Daniel Frey; great-grandchild - Layla Bays, and sister - Betty L. Schlundt of LaPorte, IN. Raymond was preceded in death by his parents,4 brothers, Walter Harder, Frederick Harder, John Harder, and William Harder. Arrangements are being entrusted to Haverstock Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 602 Maple Ave., LaPorte, IN where the family will receive friends on Tuesday, July 16, 2013 from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm and Wednesday, July 17, 2013 from 9:00 am until time of service. A life celebration will be held at Haverstock Funeral Home, Wednesday, July 17, 2013 at 10:00 am with Rev. Evan Lash, officiating. Interment will follow at the Union Mills Cemetery. A Military Service will be conducted by the American Legion Skwait Post #451 of Michigan City Honor Guard.
