Ruth Hagglund

Mrs. Ruth E. Hagglund, 88, of La Porte, Indiana, died Tuesday November 13, 2012 at Indiana University Health La Porte Hospital in La Porte, IN. She was born April 4, 1924 in La Porte, Indiana, the daughter of Earl Long and Jessie Long. She enjoyed doing crafts and playing cards. She was married to Homer "Pinky" Hagglund who preceded her in death February 3, 1982. She is survived by her 2 daughters - Patricia (Steve) Scheer of OR, Cynthia Hagglund of Plano, KY; son - Kurt (Debora) Hagglund of Walkerton, IN; one grandchild - Kristy Hagglund of Michigan City, IN; 2 sisters - Jean Terry of La Porte, IN, Virginia Thompson of Lakeland, FL. and several nieces and nephews. Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son, Ricky Hagglund, 3 brothers, Paul, Clair & Morris Long. Arrangements are being handled by Haverstock Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 602 Maple Ave., LaPorte, IN. There will be no visitation. A graveside service and burial of ashes will be held at Patton Cemetery, Saturday November 17, 2012 at 11:00 am with Rev. Ransom Ebersole, officiating.
