Greg was born in LaPorte on February 12, 1948 to Avery and Naomi Mickelson. He was a beloved husband, father, brother, grandfather, and friend. After graduating from LaPorte High School in 1966, Greg served in the United States Army until 1973. He also spent a great many mornings enjoying laughs and grumbles with his friends at The Diner of New Carlisle. He was an avid follower of current events, politics, and the stock market - which entertained and frustrated him in equal measure. Greg loved golfing and camping, and will be laid to rest permanently at Potato Creek State Park, his favorite campground. Greg is survived by his loving wife, Patti (Burkhart) Mickelson, son Brad Mickelson, daughter Beth (Dave) Bray, stepdaughter Michele Seymour, stepson Michael (Michelle) Horvath, grandchildren Davis Bray, Junah and Cian Seymour, and Max Horvath.
