Larry Mickelson

Larry L. Mickelson December 30, 1945-January 22, 2018 Mr. Larry L. Mickelson, 72, of La Porte, Indiana, passed away Monday, January 22, 2018 at Indiana University Health La Porte Hospital. He was born December 30, 1945 in La Porte, Indiana, the son of LeRoy W. Mickelson and Velma Ella (Reeves) Mickelson. Larry graduated from La Porte High School and later Indiana State University. He was a retired teacher and a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was a life long active member of the Boy Scouts of America. Larry was a friend with everyone. He is survived by his son Matthew Mickelson, Matthew's wife Stephanie; grandchildren Tobias Mickelson and Andrew Mickelson; a sister Carol Petros and her husband Peter; a niece, a nephew, and several aunts and cousins. Larry was preceded in death by his parents. Arrangements are entrusted to Haverstock Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 602 Maple Ave., La Porte, IN where the family will receive friends Saturday, January 27, 2018, 9:00 am - 11:00 am. Immediately following at 11:00 am, a life celebration will be held at Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc. Interment will follow at the Union Mills Cemetery, Union Mills, Indiana.
