Michael Bishop Sr.

Michael E. Bishop Sr. January 18, 1947-December 28, 2016 Mr. Michael E. Bishop Sr., 69, of LaPorte, Indiana, passed away Wednesday December 28, 2016 at his home in LaPorte, IN. He was born January 18, 1947 in Charleston, West Virginia, the son of Macil Bishop and Earthalee (Evans) Bishop. Michael was retired from Teledyne Casting Service after 20 years of service. He was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corp. during the Vietnam war. He was a member of VFW Post 82 of La Porte and a member of the Full Gospel Tabernacle Church. Michael enjoyed hunting, road trips and going on vacation. He also enjoyed bluegrass music. On February 2, 1974, in LaPorte, IN, he married Mary Ann (Pietrowski) Bishop who survives. He is also survived by his daughter, Tracy (Jeff Dutcher) Bishop; son, Steven Bishop; three grandchildren, Paige Martin, Gage West, Michael Elijah Bishop; sister, Mary (Jerry) Robertson; two brothers, Harvey A. Bishop, and Stephen Bishop. Michael was preceded in death by his parents, and two sons, John Bishop, and Michael Bishop Jr. Arrangements are being entrusted to Haverstock Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 602 Maple Ave., LaPorte, IN where the family will receive friends Saturday, December 31, 2016, from 8:00 am - until time of service. A life celebration will be held at Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc., Saturday December 31, 2016 at 10:00 am with Dennis Pickens officiating.
