Robert W. Weiler December 12, 1936-May 9, 2017 Robert W. Weiler, 80, of La Porte, Indiana, passed away Tuesday May 9, 2017 at Franciscan Communities Hospice in MIchigan City, IN. He was born December 12, 1936 in La Porte, Indiana, the son of Warren Weiler and Anne (Klesch) Weiler. Robert retired after 20 years of service as a La Porte City fireman. While working at the Fire Department he also worked at Fenker's Finer Furniture. After retirement he worked at Howmet Corp. for 15 years. He was a LaPorte High School graduate. He enjoyed golfing, camping, city sports, softball, basketball, the Chicago Cubs and spending time with family and friends. On January 28, 1961, in La Porte, IN, he married Linda Faye (Clark) Weiler who preceded him in death October 6, 2002. He is survived by his son, Darren Wayne Weiler of Los Angeles, CA; daughter, Beth Anne (Tom Forsyth) Weiler of Fort Wayne, IN; two grandsons, Matthew (Kelli) Smith of Indianapolis, IN, Joshua Smith of La Porte, IN; sister, Sherry Camacho of FL; brother-in-law, David (Shurla) Clark of St. Augustine, FL; Weiler nieces and nephews of South Bend, IN, Shaughnessy, nieces, nephews and brother-in-law of Texas; and other extended family. Robert was preceded in death by his parents, wife, daughter, Amy Renee Weiler, and brother, Gordon Weiler. Arrangements are being entrusted to Haverstock Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 602 Maple Ave., La Porte, IN where the family will receive friends Thursday, May 11, 2017, from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm and Friday, May 12, 2017, from 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm. A life celebration will be held at Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc., Friday May 12, 2017 at 2:00 pm with Rev. Michael Johnson officiating. Interment will be at the Pine Lake Cemetery, LaPorte, Indiana.
