Berneice Vermilyer

Mrs. Berneice Audrey "Bea" Vermilyer, age 86, of La Porte, Ind., died 1:15 PM Thursday, July 5, 2007, at Miller's Merry Manor in New Carlisle, Ind. She was born February 8, 1921 in Walkerton, Ind. to the late Harley Wolfe and the late Ethel Sirk Wolfe, and has lived all of her life in the LaPorte area. She had been employed at US Slicing Machine Co., Bastian Morley for 24 years, and retired from American Home Foods after 13 years of service. She was a member of First United Methodist Church and had been inducted into the Bowlers Hall of Fame at Thunderbird Lanes. On March 14, 1959 in LaPorte, Ind. she married Leonard Bud Vermilyer who preceded in death November 19, 1971. She is survived by her One Step-daughter-Mrs. Gloria Frey of Fountain Valley, Calif.; One Step Son-Mr. Leonard "Butch" Vermilyer of Oregon; Four Step Grandchildren; One Sister, Mrs. Bonnie Werich of New Carlisle, Ind.; One Brother, Mr. Paul Wolfe of La Porte, Ind. She is preceded in death by her parents, Husband, and One Brother Mr. Paul Wolfe of La Porte, IN. Arrangements are being handled by Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc., 602 Maple Ave., LaPorte, Ind., where the family will receive friends from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM Monday, July 9, 2007 and from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM Tuesday, July 10, 2007. Funeral service will be at Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc. at 10:00 AM Tuesday, July 10, 2007, Rev. Douglas Hadley officiating. Interment will be at Pine Lake Cemetery in La Porte, Ind.
