Betty J. Flagg

May 12, 1931 - August 1, 2023

Betty J. Flagg, 92, of La Porte, Indiana, passed away Tuesday, August 1, 2023 at Brickyard Care Center-La Porte.

She was born May 12, 1931 in Minersville, Utah, the daughter of Lorin Goff and Ethel (Booth) Goff.

When Betty was 14 years old, she married the late Leslie Flagg and moved to the area from Utah. She always had a zest for life and loved attending country concerts, going to clubs to listen to bands and out to dinner. Because her children owned Mickey's Bar, she always had a booth reserved there where she could visit with friends and have one of her favorite Corona Beers, but only if someone else was buying of course. She was a member of the PRCU and the Polish Falcon's Nest 564 in La Porte. Betty took great pride in her appearance, wearing bright colors and jewelry and always having her makeup and hair perfectly done. She was a dog lover and enjoyed watching the hummingbirds at their feeders. Most of all, Betty loved and cherished her family and will be greatly missed by all of them.

She is survived by her two sons, John Flagg of Griffin, GA, Mark Flagg of Rolling Prairie, IN; two daughters, Cheri Taylor of La Porte, IN, Rondi (Michael) Jones of Marco Island, FL; daughter in law Suzi Flagg; son in law Gerry Thompson; fifteen grandchildren, Jason (Brandee) Flagg, Cindy Taylor, Michael (Kathy) Taylor, Robert (Christine) Taylor, Nick (Janel) Zarantonello, Kristy Zarantonello, Tony (Peggy) Zarantonello, Amanda (John) Penziol, Brandon (Ashlie) Jones, Kim (Keith) Thurston, Rhonda (Mikee) Wirt, Nicole (Marvin) Safady, Savannah (Rico) Flagg, Austin (Alyssa) Flagg, Faith Bushong; 33 great-grandchildren; 8 great-great grandchildren; special friend Marla Lange and special nephew Jim Goff.

Betty was preceded in death by her husband Leslie Flagg; son, Michael Flagg, daughter, Brenda Thompson, brothers, Udell, Wilford, Kaye, Lorin, Steve, James; sisters, Isabell, Annis, Mary, Colleen; grandson, Matthew Flagg, and great-grandson, Braydon Flagg.

Arrangements are being entrusted to Haverstock Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 602 Maple Ave., La Porte, IN where the family will receive friends for a viewing on Saturday, August 5, 2023 from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm, when a Celebration of Life Service will be conducted by the Reverend Mark Jones.
