Betty Hull

Betty G. Hull July 11, 1922-November 29, 2017 Miss Betty G. Hull , 95, of La Porte, Indiana, passed away Wednesday November 29, 2017 at Indiana University Health La Porte Hospital. She was born July 11, 1922 in Buckley, Illinois, the daughter of Jay Hull and Addie (Allinger) Hull. Betty has lived in La Porte since 1935 coming from Buckley IL. She was a Flight Nurse in the US Army Air Corp during WWII serving in the South Pacific. She took up flying after the war and received her private pilots license in 1951 and her commercial license in 1958 and flew for Federal Express for 6 years. She retired from the La Porte Hospital in 1988 after serving as a registered nurse for 42 years. She was a member of the La Porte Hospital Retirees, American Legion Aux. and the La Porte Missionary Church. She is survived by her foster brother, Neil Billski; 2 foster sister, Elsie Downhour, and Edna Davis; friends, Terry and Sandy Lee and Cindy Lee. Betty was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Jean Hull. Arrangements are being entrusted to Haverstock Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 602 Maple Ave., La Porte, IN where the family will receive friends Thursday Dec. 7. 2017 from 3:00-7:00 PM and Friday Dec. 8, 2017 from 10:00 AM until time of the service. A life celebration will be held at the Haverstock Funeral Home, Friday Dec. 8, 2017 at 11:00 AM with Rev. Carl Galloway officiating. Interment will follow at the Rolling Prairie Cemetery, Rolling Prairie, Indiana. Memorial contributions may be made to Betty G. Hull in care of the Haverstock Funeral Home.
