Betty Schieman

Mrs. Betty Schieman, age 59, of Kingsford Heights, Ind., died 7:05 AM Monday, March 19, 2007, at Porter Valparaiso Hospital in Valparaiso, Ind. She was born March 27, 1947 in Portsmouth, VA to Dale Dillman and Betty Smith Dillman. She has lived all of her life in the Kingsford Heights and LaPorte area. Mrs. Schieman was a Homemaker and was a member of Faith Fellowship Church of God and attended the Kingsford Heights Wesleyan Church. She taught Sunday school for several years, loved serving the Lord, and sang in the churches. She was very involved in working for the church. She was a devoted mother and grandmother. On July 9, 1982 in Kingsford Heights she married Glen Schieman who survives. She is also survived by Three Daughters, Mrs. Angela Bob Dawson of Union Mills, Ind., Ms. Melissa Pointon of La Porte, Ind., Ms. Michelle Tyler of Culver, Ind.; Two Step Daughter, Belinda, Shannen; Two Step-Sons, Shaine, Jeremiah; One Sister, Mrs. Diane Tim Beadles of Kingsford Heights, Ind.; Nine grandchildren, Drew Tibbs, Rebecca Tibbs, Courtney Dawson, Bryan Warren, Ben Warren, Eric Pointon, Max Starke, Andrea Kuhn, Kaylee Kuhn; Two Step-Grandsons, David Dawson, Scott Dawson; Four Step Great-Grandchildren, Jessica Dawson, Jordan Dawson, Hailey Dawson, Aliyah Dawson and Twenty Two additional step grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her Grandparents, Emerson and Florence Smith and Claude and Ora Mae Dillman. Arrangements are being handled by Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc., 602 Maple Ave., LaPorte, Ind., where the family will receive friends from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM Wednesday, March 21, 2007 and from the Wesleyan Church from 10.00 AM until time of the service. Funeral service will be at Wesleyan Church of Kingsford Heights at 11:00 AM Thursday, March 22, 2007, Rev. Fred Mitchell and Bishop Jessie Moore officiating. Interment will be at Union Mills Cemetery in Union Mills, Ind.
