Calvin G. Thompson October 19, 1925-December 31, 2017 Calvin G. Thompson, 92, of La Porte, Indiana passed away peacefully at his farm home on Sunday, December 31, 2017. Calvin was born on October 19, 1925 in La Porte, Indiana; he was the beloved son of DeVere W. Thompson and Gladys (Garwood) Thompson. United in marriage on September 11, 1948, Calvin was the cherished husband of Marjorie Lang Thompson who survives. Calvin graduated from Westville High School in 1942, and has been a grain and cattle farmer all of his life. Calvin Thompson was a loving Dad and grandfather who is survived by his two daughters, Elaine Thompson Darby, Janice Thompson; son, Wayne C. Thompson, and grandchild, Curtis Darby. Calvin was preceded in death by his parents. As Cal said many times, "We have had a wonderful life and times with our family." Arrangements are being entrusted to Haverstock Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 602 Maple Ave, La Porte, IN. A graveside service will be held at Door Village Cemetery, Sunday, January 7, 2018 at 12:00 p.m., interment will follow.
