Charles "Chuck" George Glen, 76, of La Porte, Indiana, passed away Saturday May 10, 2025 at Miller's Merry Manor in New Carlisle, IN.
Born April 7, 1949 in La Porte, IN to Gordon Glen and Helen (Smith) Glen-Kirsch, Charles was raised in Door Village and attended Door Village School, where he lived on his family farm. He enlisted in the Navy, proudly serving his country. When he came back to his hometown, he began working in carpentry, which was a profession he loved. He became known as "McChuck" due to building many McDonalds across the country. That name followed him for years. He eventually retired from the Carpenter's Union 1485, La Porte.
Charles was active in his community and a longtime member of the Door Village Lion's Club. He was an avid NASCAR fan, following his favorite driver Bill Elliott and then Chase Elliott. He loved a good game of golf, and enjoyed bowling, boating and skiing on Pine Lake. Even though all of his friends were Chicago Bears Fans, he remained a loyal follower of the Green Bay Packers. Charles loved his family and his many friends and will be sadly missed by them all.
He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Sandra; sons Steven (Kathleen) Bobinski, Charles Glen Jr.; daughter Melinda (Aaron) Stacy; grandchildren Lauren Bobinski, Kaitlyn (Jared Armstrong) Bobinski, Nick Bobinski, Wyatt Stacy, Ty Stacy, Cassie Glen, Allison (Levi) Callan; brothers Bruce Glen, Russell (Becky) Kirsh; sister Kris (Keith) Ferguson.
Charles was preceded in death by his parents.
Arrangements are being entrusted to Haverstock Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 602 Maple Ave., LaPorte, IN where the family will receive friends for a viewing Friday, May 16 from 10 am until service time at 12 noon with Pastor Gene Flickinger, officiating. Interment will follow at the Carmel Cemetery, La Porte, IN.
