Daniel Christopher Lindsey, 55, of Monterey, Indiana, passed away peacefully at 1:12 a.m. on Monday, August 25, 2025, at St. Joseph Regional Hospital in Mishawaka.
Born on May 9, 1970, in Eloise, Michigan, he was the son of Sam Clayton and Hilda Rene (Sutton) Lindsey.
Daniel lived a life full of adventure, humor, and deep love for his family. He proudly served his country in the United States Army, spending time in Korea, an experience he carried with great pride throughout his life. Following his service, he built a career as a truck driver and later as a camper hauler for Wave Express, where he formed lifelong friendships. His coworkers became like family, sharing laughter, stories, and countless memorable moments on the road.
A man of many passions, Daniel found joy in the simple things. He loved his two Chihuahuas, “Honey” and “Little,” who were always by his side. He enjoyed golf, fishing, dirt bikes, ATVs, and off-road adventures. He was an avid Chicago Bears fan, a skilled pool player, and a lover of both the lake and ocean, where he could often be found swimming or simply enjoying the water. Daniel cherished time playing basketball with his kids and never missed a chance to relive his favorite movie, Happy Gilmore.
Daniel had a gift for working on anything with a motor and a lifelong love for music, from Metallica to classic country. In his younger years, he was known for his BMX bike tricks, often drawing a crowd with his fearless stunts. He also loved playing Super Nintendo with his children and could always be counted on for his infectious sense of humor. Above all else, Daniel’s greatest pride and joy were his children and grandchildren. His love for them was boundless, and his laughter, warmth, and devotion will be deeply missed.
He is survived by his daughter, Brittany (William) Stickley; his two sons, Joshua (Nicole) Lindsey and Jacob (Jenna) Lindsey; his brother, Clayton “Scott” Lindsey; four sisters, Kandy Lindsey, Vanda West, Valerie (Jeff) Uzank, and Kim Aschauer; and six beloved grandchildren, Harper Ketcham, Luke Lindsey, Jaxson Lindsey, Eliza Stickley, Juniper Lindsey, and Nellie Stickley.
Daniel was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Valencia Boshers.
