Dara Cay Booth, 70, of La Porte, Indiana passed away unexpectedly on Friday, October 24, 2025 in her home.

She was born on September 6, 1955 in Mishawaka to Donald and Agnes (Harrington) Tam.

Dara loved doing puzzles, traveling, watching nature documentaries, and spending time with her family. She was a big fan of Betty Boop and leaves behind her beloved cat, Sophia. Dara was greatly loved and will be truly missed.

On July 5, 1996 in Homosassa, Florida, she married Wetzel Booth, who preceded her in death.

She is survived by her daughter, Melissa (Timothy) Conn; son, Michael (Amy) Marvel; three brothers, Donald, David, and Doug; two sisters, Dolly and Deidre; seven grandchildren, Kaylee, Jonathon, Emily, Alex, Catie, Carter, Callie; and her lifelong best friend, Elena Seals.

Dara was preceded in death by her parents.

Arrangements are being entrusted to Haverstock Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 602 Maple Ave., LaPorte, (219)362-3333. Cremation has been selected.

Dara Cay Tam Marvel Booth, of La Porte, Indiana, passed away in October 2025 at the age of 70.

Dara was born on September 6, 1955, to Donald and Agnes Tam, who precedes her, as did her former husband Wetzel Booth in 2001.

She is survived by her daughter, Melissa, and her son, Michael; her beloved grandchildren, Jonathan and Kaylee; and her five siblings, Donald, Dave, Doug, Dolly, and Deidre. She also leaves behind her former husband, Dan Marvel, father of her children.

Dara had a passion for working on puzzles and treasured the adventures she experienced on cruises. She loved watching nature documentaries and had a fondness for Betty Boop. She cherished the friendship of her very best friend, Elena Seals, and the companionship of her beloved cat, Sophia. She will be remembered for the joy she found in life’s simple pleasures and the love she shared with her family and friends.
