Dorothy Young

Mrs. Dorothy Mae Young, age 85, of Rolling Prairie, Ind., died 12:05 PM Wednesday, August 15, 2007, at LaPorte Hospital in La Porte, Ind. Mrs. Young was the former owner and operator of Rolling Timbers Camp Ground and was a member of Rolling Prairie United Methodist Church. She was also liked to travel and be a homemaker, enjoyed raising her children and being part of Young's Evergreen Nursery. She was an artist in oil painting and she did missionary work. She was born November 22, 1921 in Goodland, Ind. to the late Bloice Hanna and the late Cora Perkins Hanna. She lived most of her life in the LaPorte area. She was married to Carl Young for 38 years. He has preceded her in death. She is survived by One Daughter, Mrs. Tina Dwayne Young-Scherb of Rolling Prairie, Ind., One Son, Mr. Kevin Young of Rolling Prairie, Ind.; Four grandchildren; Eight great-grandchildren; Two Sisters, Mrs. Donna Harold Bernacchi of La Porte, Ind.; and Mrs. Shirley Dilk of Cincinnati, Ohio She is preceded in death by her Husband, Parents, One Daughter, Mrs. Bonnye Hall; One Great Grandchild; One Sister, Mrs. Bobbie McGuire; and Three Brothers, Mr. Charles Hanna, Mr. Bloice Hanna and Mr. Ted Hanna. Arrangements are being handled by Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc., 602 Maple Ave., LaPorte, Ind., where the family will receive friends from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM Sunday, August 19, 2007 and from 9:00 AM Monday until time of the service. Funeral service will be at Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc. at 12:30 PM Monday, August 20, 2007, Rev. Freeman Schrock and Rev. David Tripp officiating.
