Mrs. Evelyn F. Leslie, age 84, of La Porte, Ind., died 2:50 PM Wednesday, July 11, 2007, at Her Residence in La Porte, Ind. She was born April 27, 1923 in Michigan City, Ind. to the late Vernon Loetz and the late Catherin Merkel Loetz. Mrs. Leslie was employed by Burnham Glove Factory and also worked at Protis Hat and was a candy striper at St. Anthony?s Hospital in Michigan City, IN. and was a member of First Christian Church of Michigan City, IN. She was also a former Moose Member, enjoyed camping, traveling, sightseeing and dancing. She was a very loving & caring person and touched hearts of many people and loved by all. On August 31, 1941 in Michigan City, Ind. she married Clarence M. Leslie who has preceded in death. She is survived by her Daughter-Diane Leslie; Six Sisters, Beverly Ferguson, Rosalie Stingley, Marrietta Mitio, Helen Daniels, Dolora Ilgenfritz, Lillian Fowler; One Brother, Lawrence Loetz; and One grandson Tommy Leslie. She is preceded in death by her Parents; Husband; Daughter; Gloria Jean Leslie; Brother, Ronald Loetz; and 2 Sisters, Darlene Loetz and Joan Horine. Arrangements are being handled by Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc., 602 Maple Ave., LaPorte, Ind., where the family will receive friends from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM Sunday, July 15, 2007. Funeral service will be at Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc. at 11:00 AM Monday, July 16, 2007, Father Jerry Schweitzer officiating. Interment will be at Pinhook Cemetery in LaPorte, Ind.
