Evelyn M. Miller, 93, of La Porte, Indiana, passed away Friday, December 3, 2021 at Golden Living Center - Fountainview Terrace in La Porte, IN.

She was born March 25, 1928 in La Crosse, Indiana, the daughter of Albert Reading and Virgie Lee (Good) Reading.

On November 22, 1947, in LaPorte, she married Lawrence H. Miller who preceded her in death February 18, 2014, after 66 years of marriage.

Evelyn was a homemaker and, also worked for American Home Foods for 17 years.

Evelyn loved watching NASCAR Racing and Jeff Gordon was one of her favorite drivers. She was a Notre Dame Football fan, a major supporter of the team. Evelyn also loved to read, do word puzzles, and bake. She was known for her homemade chicken and noodles and her Christmas cookies. But most importantly, her passion in life was her family and she truly loved her grandkids and great-grandkids.

She is survived by two daughters, Judy (Don) Waldrop of La Porte, IN, Pamela (John) Pierzakowski of La Porte, IN; three grandchildren, Heather Ackerman, Amber (Kevin) Jakel, and John (Nicole) Pierzakowski; six great-grandchildren, Breyanna Ackerman, Ethan Daugherty, Madeline Jakel, Nicholas Jakel, Natalie Pierzakowski, and Wesley Pierzakowski; and two brothers, Carl Reading of North Judson, IN, Marshall Reading of North Judson, IN; two sisters, Annie Howard of North Judson, IN, Barbara Minix of Knox, IN

Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents, 7 sisters and 5 brothers.

Arrangements are being entrusted to Haverstock Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 602 Maple Ave., La Porte, IN. A graveside service will be held at Pine Lake Cemetery on Wednesday, December 29th at 11 am and officiated by Chaplain Melissa Buche.
