The funeral for Mrs. Geneva Gibson, 83, of 2402 W. 18 th St., La-Porte, will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Haverstock Funeral Home, LaPorte, with Rev. Jack Cox officiating. She died Tuesday, July 20, 2004, at 4 a.m. at her home. Friends may call Thursday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., and Friday from 9 a.m. until the service. Burial will be in Pine Lake Cemetery, La-Porte. She was born April 11, 1921, in Soddy Daisy, Tenn., to Benjamin and Martha Jones Alexander, and had lived in the LaPorte area for 51 years, coming from Tennessee. Mrs. Gibson was a homemaker. On Sept. 21, 1938, in Lafayette, Ga., she married Charles W. Gibson, who died Sept. 27, 1987. Also preceding her in death were her parents; one son, Charles;one daughter; Diane Humphrey-Robbins three sisters and one brother. Surviving are five daughters, Barbara Thomas Griffin of LaPorte and Alma Gean Hammons, Jeri Ron Macri, Debra Michael Pawlikowski andone son-in-law Billy Robbins all of LaPorte; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; three sisters, Ailene Perkey of Soddy Daisy and Dorothy Lee and Billie Lee, both of Lafayette; and two brothers, Robert Alexander of Rockwood, Tenn., and Don Alexander of Soddy Daisy.
