Georgia Wimer

Mrs. Georgia E. Wimer, age 87, of La Porte, Ind., died 6:05 AM Friday, March 23, 2007, at LaPorte Hospital in La Porte, Ind. She was born April 19, 1919 in Michigan City, Ind. to the late George Warnke and the late Evelyn Dittmer Warnke. Mrs. Wimer was employed by Gateway Industries for 12 years and was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ. She was also a member of St. John's Evening Guild, Coolspring Farmers Institute, Coolspring Project Club, Past member-LaPorte County Farm Bureau, and Coolspring Farm Bureau. She loved being with her grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed attending all her meetings and projects. Everyone will miss her smile. She was married January 12, 1946 in Michigan City, Ind. to Leroy Wimer, who proceeded in death December 30, 1994. She is survived by Daughter, Mrs. Nancy Bob Matzke of La Porte, Ind.; Two grandchildren Robert J. Mandy Matzke, Michael Matzke; Two great-grandchildren Nicholas Matzke, Kylee Matzke; and One Sister, Mrs. Dorothy Jim Briggs of Delray Beach, Fla. She is preceded in death by her Parents, Husband, One Daughter, Joyce Villamizer and One Brother, Royal Warnke. Arrangements are being handled by Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc., 602 Maple Ave., LaPorte, Ind., where the family will receive friends from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM Monday, March 26, 2007 and from 9:00 AM Tuesday until time of the service. Funeral service will be at Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc. at 11:00 AM Tuesday, March 27, 2007, Rev. William Fine officiating. Interment will be at Greenwood Cemetery in Michigan City, Ind.
