Glen E. Burkett, 48, of La Porte, Indiana, passed away Friday, December 30, 2022 at Northwest Health - La Porte.

He was born April 17, 1974 in Michigan City, Indiana.

A lifelong resident of the area, Glen was an active member of the Special Olympics, participating on both the bowling and softball teams. He enjoyed WWE wrestling and was an avid White Sox fan. He spent his free time playing video games or out by the water fishing. Glen liked to shop and had a love for food.

He is survived by his guardian, Tara Payton (Jason) of La Porte, IN and three friends Alexa von Rothe of Michigan City, IN, Shawn Goodwin of Walkerton, IN, and Brandon Feasel of La Porte, IN. A special thanks would like to be given to Glen's direct caregiver, Matt Propeck.

Arrangements are being entrusted to Haverstock Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 602 Maple Ave., La Porte, IN. Cremation will take place. A gathering of friends will be held at Haverstock Funeral Home, Sunday, January 15, 2023 from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. followed by a celebration of Glen's life.

Memorial contributions may be made in his honor for outings for people with disabilities in care of Tara Payton, 214 Park Street, La Porte, IN.
