Harley Berg

Mr. Harley Edward Berg, age 82, of Michigan City, Ind., died 2:45 PM Wednesday, August 29, 2007, at his home in Michigan City, Ind. He was born April 17, 1925 in Chesterton, Ind. to the late Edward Berg and the late Rita Schultz Berg. He has lived in the area most of his life. Mr. Berg was a retired construction worker and was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church of Michigan City, Ind. He a Veteran of US Army during Korean Conflict, a member of the VFW of Michigan City, Ind. and UKC Raccoon Club. He loved bowling Baseball The Dodgers and NASCAR Racing. On June 16, 1976 in Michigan City, Ind. he married Shirley Wright who survives. He is also survived by his Daughter, Mrs. April Walter Kuzmin of La Porte, Ind.; Son, Mr. Kyle Berg of Michigan City, Ind.; Two granddaughters, Brittany Bogart, Brandy Bogart; Step Grandson, David Kuzmin; Two Sisters, Miss Doris Berg of Florida, Mrs. Bernette Kniola of Michigan City, Ind.; and Brother, Mr. Allan Cindy Berg of Michigan City, Ind. Arrangements are being handled by Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc., 602 Maple Ave., LaPorte, Ind., where the family will receive friends from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 PM Tuesday, September 4, 2007, and from 9:00 AM until time of the service on Wednesday. Funeral service will be at Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc. at 11:00 AM Wednesday, September 5, 2007, Pastor Mary Edwards and Pastor Jay Loucks officiating. Interment will be at Carmel Cemetery in La Porte, Ind. Military honors will be conducted at the cemetery by the LaPorte VFW - American Legion Honor Guard.
