Harley Clowers

Mr. Harley R. Clowers, age 68, of La Porte, Ind., died 1:10 PM Wednesday, February 28, 2007, at LaPorte Hospital in La Porte, Ind. He was born January 8, 1939 in Norma, Tenn. to the late Albert Clowers and the late Mable Hughett Clowers. He has lived in the LaPorte area for 33 years, coming from Chicago, Ill. Mr. Clowers was employed by American Home Foods for 10 years in the maintenance department. He was Proud to serve his country, proud to be a father, and husband. He loved antiques, old guns, NASCAR races; he loved his cars and his family. He Served in the Army during Vietnam War. On February 26, 1962 in Huntsville, Tenn. he married Ruby Davis, who survives. He is also survived by his Two Daughters, Mrs. Denise Ricky Fraisure of Valparaiso, Ind., Mrs. Janet Bruce Horning of La Porte, Ind.; One Son, Mr. Harley Michelle Clowers, Jr. of La Porte, Ind.; Five grandchildren; Six Sisters, Mrs. Mary Nell Paul Compton of Oneida, Tenn., Mrs. Betty Lou Alein Cross of Oneida, Tenn., Mrs. Pauline Grisco of Oneida, Tenn., Mrs. Aline Spradlin of Oneida, Tenn., Mrs. Veida Alex Govra of Plainfield, Ill., Mrs. Evelyn Smith of Fort Wayne, Ind.; Two Brothers, Mr. Roger Carol Clowers of Oneida, Tenn., and Mr. Convie Pauline Clowers of Fish Lake, Ind. Arrangements are being handled by Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc., 602 Maple Ave., LaPorte, Ind., where the family will receive friends from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM Sunday, March 4, 2007 and Monday from 11:00 AM until time of the service. Funeral service will be at Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc. at 1:00 PM Monday, March 5, 2007, Rev. Steve Laue officiating. Interment will be at Patton Cemetery in LaPorte, Ind.
