Mr. Harold T. Veirs, age 88, of La Porte, Ind., died 4:00 AM Sunday, February 25, 2007, at Beverly LivingCenters-Fountainview in La Porte, Ind. He was born September 1, 1918 in Wadena, Ind. to the late Ralph Veirs and the late Ethel Thomas Veirs. Mr. Veirs was retired in 1981 from Grimm Mold & Die as a tool and die maker and was a member of First Christian Church of Rolling Prairie. He was also a member of Eagles, Moose and Gleaner Arbor of Mill Creek; he was also a member of the 40 & Over Dance Club and the Senior Bowling League. On March 4, 1945 in Reynolds, Ind. he married Thelma G. Lemon who preceded in death January 25, 1974. He re-married on July 27, 1974 in Rolling Prairie, Ind. to Barbara "Hooten" Hay who survives. He is also survived by his Daughter, Mrs. Karen Marie Orval Cooley of La Porte, Ind.; Son, Mr. Ronald Allen Veirs of Santee, Calif.; Brother, Mr. Albert Joyce Veirs of Deshler, Ohio; Five grandchildren and Ten great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents Wife, One Son Roger Dale Veirs and Two Brothers, Robert Veirs and Frank Veirs. Arrangements are being handled by Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc., 602 Maple Ave., LaPorte, Ind., where the family will receive friends from 1:00 to 3:00 and 5:00 to 7:00 PM Friday, March 2, 2007. Funeral service will be at Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc. at 7:00 PM Friday, March 2, 2007, Rev. John Marrom officiating.
