Irma Keehn

Irma B. Keehn March 12, 1928-December 5, 2017 Irmgard "Irma" B. Keehn, 89, of La Porte, Indiana, passed away Tuesday December 5, 2017 at Brentwood Assisted Living in LaPorte, IN. She was born March 12, 1928 in La Porte, Indiana, the daughter of Gustav Friedrich and Martha (Kutscher) Friedrich. Irma was a life long resident of La Porte, she graduated from La Porte High School and retired in 1990 from Wilson Lumber Co. after 36 years serving as their bookkeeper. She was an active member of the Trinity Lutheran Church, Women's Guild, and served as secretary of the church board. On October 24, 1980, in La Porte, IN, she married Donald Keehn who preceded in death September 11, 2005. She is survived by her two step daughters, Judy (Brian) Bunge, Bonnie (Steve) Snyder; four step grandchildren, Brad Martin, Leanne (George) Hayes, Elaine Erne, and Angela (Jeff) Nelson; four step great grandchildren, Alec and Paiton Martin, Hanna Hayes and Alexandra Nelson; her sister, Margaret Chrobak; niece Ann Schreeg and nephews Steve and Joseph Chrobak. Irma was preceded in death by her two infant sisters; two infant brothers, and a step son, Michael Keehn. Arrangements are being entrusted to Haverstock Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 602 Maple Ave., La Porte, IN where the family will receive friends Friday, December 8, 2017, 4:00 pm - 7:00 pm and Saturday, December 9, 2017, 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm. A life celebration will be held at Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc., Saturday December 9, 2017 at 1:00 pm with Rev. Noel C. Oles and Rev Arthur Schwenk officiating. Interment will follow at the Patton Cemetery, LaPorte, Indiana. Memorial contributions may be made to the Trinity Lutheran Church, 907 Michigan Ave., LaPorte, IN 46350.
