James Long

The funeral for Mr. James P. Long Jr., 43, of LaPorte, will be Wednesday at 10 a.m. at Haverstock Funeral Home, LaPorte, with Revs. Ronald Devenport and Art Good officiating. Mr. Long died Sunday, Aug. 1, 2004, at 8:38 a.m. in La-Porte. Friends may call today from 4 to 8 p.m. and Wednesday from 8 a.m. until the service. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery, Mill Creek. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor?s choice. He was born Feb. 19, 1961, in LaPorte to James P. Sr. and Wilma L. Robinson Long, and had lived all his life in the LaPorte area. Mr. Long was a truck driver for Alexander Chemical for four years. He was a member of Mill Creek Baptist Church and Teamsters Union 135. He enjoyed being with his family. On Sept. 9, 2000, in Mill Creek, he married Kelley Meyers, who survives. Also surviving are his parents, of Walkerton; two sons, Jared Michael and Brenen Wade, both of LaPorte; one sister, Lesia L. Patterson of Fish Lake; and one brother, Todd of LaPorte.
