Jane Claire Ragle  

June 30, 1944 - February 12, 2024

Jane Claire Ragle, 78 Years, of Michigan City, Indiana, passed away peacefully Monday, February 12 at Silver Birch Assisted Living Facilities.

She was born June 30, 1944 in Westville, Indiana, the daughter of Delbert Ragle and Martha "Beulah" (Hilton) Ragle.

Jane, who moved to this area from Chicago five years ago, earned her Master's Degree in Special Education from Indiana University. Throughout her life, she held management positions for several companies including managing a law firm in New York, where she was President of the Association of Legal Administrators, condos in the Florida Keys, co-managing with her sister, Jan, for Landmark Andersonville Co-Op Shoppe, and teaching for the Michigan City School system. After moving to the area, she became an active member of the Hanna United Methodist Church. In her free time, Jane enjoyed baking, 4-H, gardening and flowers. 

She is survived by her four nieces, Jennifer Baxter of Chicago, IL, Karen (Poe) Owen of Hanna, IN, Sharon Owen of Plymouth, IN and Cathy Owen Ousley of Hanna, IN; three nephews, Matt Owen of Korea, Mark Owen of Plymouth, IN, and John Baxter of Clouis, CA. 

Jane was preceded in death by both parents; sisters, Joan Owen and Jan Baxter and nephew, Michael.

Arrangements are being entrusted to Haverstock Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 602 Maple Ave., La Porte, IN where the family will receive friends. A life celebration will be held at a later time and date. Cremation will take place.
