Jean Cannan

Mrs. Jean E. Jennie Cannan, age 63, of La Porte, Ind., died Monday, December 18, 2006, in Doniphan, Mo. after a sudden illness. She was born April 13, 1943 in Detroit Mich. to the late Emmett Smith and the late Sadie Harris Smith. She has lived in the LaPorte area all of her life. She had worked at American Rubber, American Home Foods and retired from Howmet Corp. after 7 years of service. She was very active with the Landmark Missionary Baptist Church. She was full of life & was always doing things for her loved ones, and she loved to bake. On July 2, 1988 in LaPorte, Ind. she married Donald Cannan. She is survived by her husband Mr. Donald Cannan; One Daughter, Mrs. Debbie Gale Clough of La Porte, Ind.; Three Sons, Mr. Randy Norton of Hamlet, Ind., Mr. Dany "Tiny" Norton of La Porte, Ind., Mr. Rob Dana Mayer Norton of Sturgis, Mich.; Three Sisters, Norma Paul Zimmerman of La Porte, Ind., Margaret Frank Okrzesik of La Porte, Ind., Patricia Porter of La Porte, Ind.; One Brother, Robert Smith of Fairdealing, Mo.; Five Step-children, Patty, Valerie John Gonzales of Pueblo, CO, Dawn Kevin Francis of Kingsford Heights, IN., Donnie Terri Cannan of Michigan City, IN., Randy Nicole Cannan of Michigan City, IN.; Twenty Six grandchildren and Seven great-grandchildren. Arrangements are being handled by Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc., 602 Maple Ave., LaPorte, Ind., where the family will receive friends from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM Friday, December 22, 2006 and from 9:00 AM Saturday until time of the service. Funeral service will be at Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc. at 11:00 AM Saturday, December 23, 2006, Rodney H Nielsen officiating. Interment will be at Patton Cemetery in LaPorte, Ind.
