Mrs. Joan Owen, 80 of 3993 N. 500 E. Rolling Prairie, Indiana died Friday October 1, 2004 at 12:10 a.m. at Memorial Hospital, South Bend, IN. She was born March 31, 1924 in LaPorte, Indiana to Lloyd C. and Geneva Bowman Hager; who has preceded .Mrs. Owen lived all her life in the LaPorte area. Mrs. Owen worked at Howmet Corp. as a expeditor and retired in 1986 Surviving is a daughter Mrs. Carol William Manzuk of Rolling Prairie, IN a brother Mr. William Ellen Hager of Michigan City, IN a sister Mrs. Georgina Haverstock of Rolling Prairie, IN a sister Mrs. Barbara Makinna of LaPorte, IN a sister Sharon Hager of LaPorte, IN a sister Judy Hager of LaPorte, IN a granddaughter Mrs. Kathy Miller of South Bend, IN a granddaughter Mrs. Karen Scott Gardner of South Bend, IN a granddaughter Mrs. Kim Mark Kleinheksel of Hamilton, MI a granddaughter Mrs. Chanda Sebasty of South Bend, IN and a grandson Mr. Joshua Tegan Owen of Uwabeech, Hawaii. Mrs. Owen has 10 great-grand children. The Funeral will be a direct cremation and a Private family Service will be held at a later date, there will be no visitation.
