John Earl Benson May 24, 1950-November 18, 2019 John Earl Benson, 69, of La Porte, IN, passed away Monday November 18, 2019 at his residence in La Porte, IN. He was born May 24, 1950 in Chicago, Illinois, the son Marshall Benson and Anna Mae (Cunningham) Benson. John Earl lived most of his life in the Orlando area before moving to La Porte 5 years ago. John enjoyed going out to restaurants and was a Chicago Bears fans. John really loved spending time with his family. He is survived by his son, John Benson of La Porte, IN; Step-Son, Brian Davis; two daughters, Beck Ann (Nathan) Battleday, Samatha Benson; six Grandchildren, Clayton, Wesley, Jacob Battleday, Seth and Monica Benson, and Savannah Cardwell; John was preceded in death by his sister, Linda Larson. Arrangements are being entrusted to Haverstock Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 602 Maple Ave., La Porte, IN. Military honors will be presented Thu, Dec 5 at 1 pm at the Haverstock Funeral Home.
