Jon R. Lewis, 66, of La Porte, Indiana, passed away Wednesday December 9, 2020 at Northwest Health Hospital-La Porte

He was born October 7, 1954 in La Porte, Indiana, the son of Mervin Clifford and Betty Marie (Kepplin) Lewis.

A lifelong resident of the area, Jon was an over the road trucker for CRST in Bremen, IN.  He served in the United States Navy, stationed in Cuba. An avid sports fan, his favorites were golf and NASCAR, especially Dale Earnhardt Sr. and Jr. His passion was gardening and he tended meticulously to his vegetables, passing them out to friends and family when the crop came in.

He is survived by his son, Chad Robert Lewis of Phoenix, AZ; daughter, Stacie Lewis Oliver of Chesterton, IN; brother, Robert (Debbie) Beyer of Wisconsin Rapids, WI; sisters, Jean Miller of Northport, FL and Vicki Ann Bair of  La Porte; four grandchildren, Aiden, Ethan, Addison and Sam.

Jon was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, William Lewis.

Arrangements are being entrusted to Haverstock Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 602 Maple Ave., La Porte, IN. The family has selected cremation.
