Julian Lee Rogers

Julian Lee Rogers, Jr., age 66, of LaPorte, IN, passed away on Sunday, April 5, 2026.

Julian was born on August 7, 1959 in Gary, IN to the late Julian Lee Rogers, Sr. and Delitha (nee Fraley) Galka.

Julian began working at Westville Correctional Facility for 34 years and worked his way up to Captain. He was tough but fair and a great mentor to all. It was at the prison where he and his wife, Paula, met. Julian was a great father, grandfather, and pop-pop. He stepped up when he didn’t have to and was the father to seven children. He was never a step-father and his children were never step-children. Julian loved his children through and through. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Julian is survived by his wife: Paula; mother: Delitha Galka; children: Justin (Christy) Patillo, Zachary (Monica) Patillo, Ashley (David) LaPorte, Emily (Jessica) Rogers, and Jacob Rogers; grandchildren: Aryanna, Elora, Rylee, Hunter, and Alex; brother: Patrick Mason and beloved dog: Buddy.

Julian is preceded in death by his father, Julian Sr.; son: Joshua Lee Rogers; and daughter: Sabrina Nicole Rogers; and mother-in-law turned best friend: Anita Louise Berry.
