June Schmidt

Mrs. June T. Schmidt, age 86, of La Porte, Ind., died 11:30 PM Sunday, June 10, 2007, at Beverly Living Center-Fountainview in La Porte, Ind. She was born May 15, 1921 in Athens, PA to the late George Thrasher and the late Clara Noss Thrasher. Mrs. Schmidt was a homemaker and was a member of St. John Lutheran Church. She was also a member of Circle 7 at St. John's Lutheran Church, Jolly Janes Home Ext. Club, and a 4-H Leader 10 Years. She loved working in her flower garden; she had collected every conceivable color of irises in her flower garden. On Oct. 25, 1947 in Baltimore, Maryland she married Robert W. Schmidt who survives. She is also survived by One Daughter, Mrs. Arlene John Schrader of Bloomington, Ind.; One Son, Mr. Ivy Patricia Schmidt of La Porte, Ind.; Five grandchildren Tom Schmidt, Dawn Schmidt-Wiseman, Jacob Schrader, Christopher Schrader, Abigale Schrader; Two great-grandchildren; and Two Sisters, Thelma Sutton of Wayne, N.Y., and Bette Murray of Lamont, Okla. She is preceded in death by her Parents, Two Brothers and Two Sisters. Arrangements are being handled by Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc., 602 Maple Ave., LaPorte, Ind., The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM Friday, June 15, 2007 at St. John Lutheran Church. Funeral service will be at St. John Lutheran Church at 11:00 AM Friday, June 15, 2007, Rev. Ronald A. Brauer officiating. Interment will be at Door Village Cemetery in LaPorte, Ind.
